time to pretend
this blog still lives

seasons pass
dad responds when mom
calls him by my name

pleasant night
before the storm –
train horn

rainy week
broken branches arch
over the sidewalk

4th of July –
cacophony
and fireflies

cloudy sunrise –
cat traps smaller cat
under my car

muggy night –
possums replace
raccoons on porch

wandering around
the hardware store
without a passport

windy night –
fleeting thought
rushes past me

hanging crystal
casts rainbow
on gray cat’s coat
