The fog hid the road, never mind the homes across it. Cy crouched and crawled softly to the left, away from the killer behind him.

I stumbled in the fog with only my heart to guide me home to Kathy. I ended up on Lorna’s porch. And on her sofa. And in her bed.

low clouds thicken —
the world ends
three hills away

for two minutes
pink fog
then back to gray

fog-shrouded sunrise
bright orange sky
fades to gray

foggy night—
dog rolls around
in the snow
