lovesick cat yowls
outside my window

four meows –
cat prints
in the snow

nearly midnight –
spare cat growls
at something she’s treed

cloudy sunrise –
cat traps smaller cat
under my car

hanging crystal
casts rainbow
on gray cat’s coat

late night –
cat meyawns
at me

mama cat
gives us another chance
five kittens

loading kittens
for trip to shelter
mama cat watches

heavy cat
watches squirrels
through the window

looking for
the stray cat
big squirrel instead
