keeps the neighbors’ cat
warm on our porch

94th birthday –
Grandpa asks again
who I am

neighborhood leaves
gather on
corner lot

nearly forgotten sound –
rainwater trickles
into storm drain

sunny afternoon –
dessicated worms
on sidewalk

humid afternoon –
three helicopters
cross my path

divorce court –
I park near
the funeral home

afternoon walk
jogs memory
of paper route

a quick look away
