didn’t burn my mouth

coffeehouse patron
serves generous portions
of leg, thigh

trying to recall
unwritten haiku –
404 error

calendar dog
regards me
skeptically

neighborhood cat
waits on the fence
by bird feeders

bright blue spark
between her finger
and the cat’s nose

hot sauce
on the burrito –
cold north wind

parking lot –
sippy cup lid
in the snowmelt
